Crash Proof=Good Reading
Over the Thanksgiving holiday I found myself in a car for several hours as I traveled to visit my family. I took the opportunity to complete a book that I had been putting off for far too long. The book was, “Crash Proof” by Peter Schiff. (If you are unfamiliar with Peter Schiff just “google” him or “youtube” him. There is plenty of material available.) I have to say, this book really opened my eyes and provided me with vast amounts of clarity on the economic situation that our nation currently faces. I am certainly no economist or expert in investing or personal finance for that matter, but I found the explanations and recommendations to be priceless. After completing it I feel well-equipped to talk with my peers about the issues at hand, and most importantly, make common sense points backed up by fact and logic while doing so. This book was written in 2006, yet Peter Schiff predicts accurately the problems with Fannie and Freddie, the mortgage bubble, etc. I found myself saying, “You called it, Peter” several times. I highly recommend you check this book out and give it a look. I plan on buying a few copies to give to friends and family for Christmas. It would certainly be a very “timely” read.
Have you read “Crash Proof?” Share your thoughts, highlights, etc. A conversation on financial security is certainly a topic that we could all benefit from. Make sure to leave a reply!
