Top 10 Ways to Encourage Real Change

Top 10 Ways to Encourage Real Change

Here is a list of the top 10 things you can do to help inform the general public about liberty, freedom and support of the constitution.

1. Attend local public meetings

Listings of local meetings can be found in local newspapers such as county commissioner meetings, school board meetings, city council meetings and much more. Go and express your concerns on upcoming projects and proposals. Make your sentiments known, start change in your area one meeting at a time.

2. Talk and tell others about current issues

Political apathy is thick around our country, and the only way to break that is to be informed and tell others about the current issues both locally and nationally. When people are informed and given the resources to take action they are more likely to do so.

3. Go door to door and meet your neighbors

It is easy to fear and reject things you are not familiar with. In order to curtail that, you need to be a face and person easy to recognize. The best way to do this is to go around and talk with your neighbors. Introduce yourself and let them know about you and what you would like to accomplish. Transparency is key.

4. Print out pamphlets and fliers to give away

Most campaigns will gladly give you all of the resources you need to pass out, but just in case, most offer high quality PDF or Adobe files for you to print out on your own.

5. Join groups like C4L, JBS and many many more

Getting involved with established groups gives you the benefits of resources, tradition and branding. These same qualities can be a drawback so make sure to do your research before jumping in with any group. Measure the quality and commitment of those groups to your own and make sure you are not sacrificing any of your own standards.

6. Volunteer on like-mined campaigns

When you come across a campaign or initiative you can lend your support to go ahead and get involved. Most campaigns run on a shoestring budget and will accept any kind of commitment they can get. If you are unsure where to start or how to begin, join with a friend.

7. Donate time, money or talents
There are three main things you can donate: time, money and talents. If you don’t have much money, spend a little time stuffing envelops. If you don’t have much time, donate some coin as that will help buy media exposure and whatnot. If you have a specific talent like web designing, offer your service for free or highly reduced price.

8. Run for local, regional or national public offices

If you are in a position to run for a office or seat of your own, build your support and rally those around you to start your very own campaign. Make sure to have a foundation before beginning and consult those who have already been down that road before you.

9. Write, call or email your senators and representatives

Stay informed and involved by letting your support and opposition known to those in office. When you continually stay involved, your opinions for and against are taken more seriously. If you helped a candidate win an election, he or she should be more open to your opinion.

10. Encourage others to do the same

Invite others to attend meetings and events with you. Show them the wheres and hows to getting involved and encouraging others to do the same. Stick with it.
